There are 2 entries for John Ball on Freereg, the notes in one says "Notes Groom, Bride & both Witnesses sign X. Grooms Father's surname is Simkin."

Also there is this for Esther (John's daughter)

I can not find anything other than Francis Carter Ball than marriage record.

The marriage I thought was wrong for Marranne Welch is wrong. I thought transcription errors. Likely mine as that person married a John Francis!
I am in a pickle with this family. I think I will stop looking for a day or two and come back with a fresh mind!
