Re: Total of ancestors in the BCC tree
Yes indeed, WELL DONE EVERYBODY.

Must tell you about this. I've put some info from my own tree onto BCC and made some connections to names already on there. But, I put some info on the Hobbs family who used to own Hobbs & Sons Restaurant in Hall Street, Dudley which now stands in the Black Country Museum - I had no connection to this family apart from having their fish & chips when I worked in Dudley.
Anyway, going from the surnames Hobbs to Stevenson to Fones to Rhodes, mainly going through the female line, I ended up with the surname Wall which connects to my family. This has never happened before to me and I just wondered if others who have entered info onto BCC have had a similar experience.

It`s a shame it isn`t one family all connected but a very good idea and always helpful to other peeps trees

The idea was that we all seem to connect to each other somewhere along the line.
Regarding bc wench post I was adding what I thought was an unrelated family recently
And found going back it did connect to mine!

Re: Total of ancestors in the BCC tree
GRO comes in amazing with maiden names added to help with unknowns! That will be work in progress and as more and more things are added via the internet makes things easier to confirm and check.
DNA is also providing vital clues and skeletons!
I forget what goal it was, years ago. It came in on Christmas day...Jan and myself did not add anything, waiting for the number to change and congratulate who added it! Our Christmas dinner was delayed, I was in tears!
Might not be a blood family, but I think a family was formed by doing this!
