Appleby/Parsons
I noted that Trisha had inserted details of an Ezra Appleby born 1874 and remembered a letter I received two years ago
"I have found that my Great Grandfather Ezra Parsons was born at 123,High St. Cradley Heath on 14/2/1875 to an Eliza Jane Parsons ( no father on birth Cert.)
The family living at this address were Edwin & Rebecca Appleby .From later Census returns it appears an Ezra Appleby is living with them and in 1891 Ezra is shown as adopted.
On his wedding cert. he is named as Ezra Appleby Parsons and he had two sons ( one my grandfather Edwin) who also used Appleby as middle names.
My great grandfather used Appleby surname when he enlisted in to the Worcs. Regiment in 1914 and died in 1918 from Maleria in India after serving in Gallipoli ,Egypt and Mesopotamia.
B.W.Parsons"
I have investigated and found all details of Appleby family from 1841 onwards except 1901 Census for Ezra (Appleby) Parsons . B.W.Parsons is correct in that Edwin & Rebecca did adopt Ezra born 1875 and also had a son Ezra born 1874 who went on to marry Eliza Cole . Ezra (Appleby) Parsons married an Elizabeth Westwood in 1897 and they had children as follows :- Edwin ( grandfather of B.W.Parsons) born 1898,Mary born 1900,Lily born 1902, Ezra born 1904, Jane born 1909, Alfred born 1910
I will insert all the Census and other details but would appreciate any help in a) finding missing 1901 Census b) Identifying Eliza Jane Parsons ( B.W. Parsons seems to think that she was related as she was living with Appleby family in 1875)

Re: Appleby/Parsons
hi mumbles. Have another look at your entry for EAP 1875. You have a death date of 1881. Obviously a typo.

Researching Foley, Burley, Dean, Danks, Smith, Pugh, Hughes, Shakespeare.
