George RICHARDS b. West Bromwich c1864
I'm trying to trace the parents of above George RICHARDS b. c1864
1871 census has the following -
9 Lyng Lane, West Bromwich
David Richards, 33, b. W Brom
Elizabeth, wife, 30, b. W Brom
William, son, 16, b. W Brom
David, son, 13, b. W Brom
Elizabeth, dau, 11, b. Oldbury
George, son, 10, b. W Brom
If the above is correct, that would put David b. 1838 and Elizabeth b. 1841.
I have found several marriage for David & Elizabeth, but the dates don't tie up. Also George's birth at 1864 doesn't connect with 10yrs old in 1871 census, however, there were many mistakes!
Any ideas?

What was difficult about 1871 Census is that children are from his first marriage to Jane Woolley and second marriage to a widow Elizabeth White (nee Oakley) . William Richards 16 is actually William White and Elizabeth Richards is actually Elizabeth White and Ann Maria Richards is actually Maria White . These are Elizabeth's children by marriage to Septimus White
Checked children against GRO to sort
