Re: George Foster born 1792
Joseph Parkes father of Elizabeth Parkes who married Thomas Foster Rose is on bcc
https://www.tribalpages.com/tribe/brows ... =162283952
but 1851 entry does not tie up and I think this is right entry
1851 Census Bell End Rowley Regis Dudley Staffs.
Joseph Parkes Head 60 Nailer
Phoebe Parkes wife 59 Nailer born Halesowen Worcs.
Thomas Parkes son 24
Elizabeth Foster visitor 21
George Forster visitor 2
Joseph Forster visitor 0
Rest born Rowley Regis Staffs.
It would appear that Elizabeth has taken Foster surname instead of Rose as per wedding

Got deeper into this and for some reason family keep changing and swopping surnames so I will have to put notes throughout when I add

Thanks mallosa
I had a problem in connecting to site yesterday and that is why link did not work
This thread is really interesting as surnames keep changing back and forth from maternal to paternal and back again.
NL started it with George Tromans Foster thread
Further down line Foster and Rose surnames evolve into Darby and Turner as a Phoebe Foster marries a Cornelius Darbey Turner and family then drop Turner to become Darby after mother divorces Turner . It actually says divorced along side her name and he moves to America where he remarries
I thought ordinary people could not get divorced in 19th Century ?
