It's a little bit twisted, but the Nephew married the Uncles daughter Mary Ann Griffiths
Now, I'm trying to find out who John (Uncle) married
I have found this family on 1901 Census
45 Wellington St, Old Hill
GRIFFITHS John 30 Forge Labourer
GRIFFITHS Ann M 32 b
GRIFITHS Edward B son 11
GRIFFITHS Jason son 7
GRIFFITHS Mary A dau 4
GRIFFITHS Harry son 8 months
Now on Mary Ann's and John wedding certificate their adrress is listed as 46 Wellington St, Old Hill

So, is this uncanny or what? John was born 1871 in RR and Mary Ann was born abt 1898 also in RR
The above ages fit with what we already know and also there is another bit of trivia for Mary Ann. Seems she was known to all and sundry and Cissie/Sissy, which made finding a marriage a little difficult. I had more or less figured that Cissie was a nickname and that she would have had at least one older sibilng. So, by my reckoning this family is looking more and more like the right one as Mary Ann has two older brothers and one younger, which would explain how she came to be known as Cissie.
Does anyone else agree with me in that this is the family I'm looking for and moiher of Mary Ann is Ann M?
Next problem is that I don't seem to be able to find a marriage for John and Ann M that fits with the eldest boy being born about 1890
