According to BC Connections Edwin m. Sarah Ann SMITH abt 1866 at Bromsgrove and they produced following children -
Mary J 1867
William R 1868
Charles 1870
Joseph H 1874
Albert E 1877

The 1881 census has this family living at the Three Furnaces Inn Slack Hillock (which is Waterfall Lane) Rowley Regis (Edwin Licenced victualler)
BCC also states that Sarah Ann Smith m. John FOLEY at St Giles Rowley Regis in 1890.

I have been trying to tie up Sarah Ann in my tree and have come across the following monumental inscription at St Paul's Blackheath, which contradicts the above, but I am not sure if I am linking two different Sarah Ann's - see inscription below

"In Loving memory of Martha Maria daughter of Edwin & Sarah Ann Cooper of Waterfall Lane who died Aug 24 1880 aged 1 yr & 3 months.
Also Edwin Albert (their son) who died Sept 10 1884 aged 8 yrs.
Also Walter (their son) who died Jan 14 1885 aged 3 yrs & 4 months.
Also of the above named Edwin Cooper who died August 1 1888 aged 47 yrs.
Also of Sarah Ann Foley beloved wife of Edwin Cooper who died June 16 1906 aged 59 yrs.
Also of William Richard Cooper who died March 20 1909 aged 41"


William Richard who died 1909 aged 41 fits with 1881 census and also the St Paul's inscription, furthermore the inscription states 'of Waterfall Lane' again fits.
There are obvious connections but also contradictions re children - can anyone help?

Sarah Ann marries John Foley in 1890
so that would fit with Edwin dying in 1888

So sarah marries edwin he dies and she marries John Foley

I've realised my error!

I assumed (wrongly) that this was Sarah Ann FOLEY dau of Eli William FOLEY 1822-1909 & Esther WEAVER. It cannot be her since she was Sarah Ann SMITH.

I was just showing the one who died in 1871, was born under the maiden name Homer.
