There is a baptism 25 Apr 1858, Old Swinford, Sarah Jane, dau of Joseph & Elizabeth Allchurch.
Now I'm confused: was this her parents, or were her parents Thomas & Ann - the 1881 suggests the latter...

Re: Ambrose Yardley & Sarah Jane Allchurch on BCC
Think I've solved it:
That bapt for Sarah Jane, dau of Joseph & Elizabeth Allchurch must be the one who married Ambrose Yardley - the reason she was able to call Julietta (b1870) and John William (b 1860) - (children of Thomas Allchurch & Ann Jones) her sister in law and brother in law in 1881 is that John William Allchurch was married to her sister Mary Elizabeth Allchurch, b abt 1861....

Re: Ambrose Yardley & Sarah Jane Allchurch on BCC
Incidentally, that marriage at Clent, 8 Aug 1847, for Thomas Allchurch & Ann Jones has his father as Elijah Allchurch, and Ann Jones has Mary Jones in place of father (so she was probably illegitimate). I think Thomas's bapt was 24 Apr 1825, Old Swinford, son of Elijah Allchurch & Mary.

Think that clinches it Jimmy -there is a marriage registered 1853, Holy Trinity, Wordsley, Sept Qtr, Joseph Allchurch & Elizabeth Bampfield (sic).

They connect to me, too.
Yes, Sarah Jane who married Ambrose Yardley is the daughter of Joseph Allchurch who married Elizabeth Bampfield at Wordsley in 1853. If you want marriage details, let me know. Joseph was the son of Thomas Allchurch (1787 - 1844) and Mary nee Aston.
Thomas Allchurch, baptised in 1825, who married Anne Jones at Clent was the son of Elijah Allchurch and Mary nee Aston - Elijah was the brother of Thomas (1787-1844) above. Thomas and Elijah were the sons of of John Allchurch and Ann nee Simkis. I'm also descended from John and Ann through their eldest son, John.
If you want any further information let me know.

Thanks, that's very interesting. I've been looking at those - weren't they in Amblecote/ bottom of Brettell Lane?
I think they connect to me too, I'm not at home so can't check my notes, but I think my connection possibly through the Astons.
That 1853 marriage would be useful.

I'm happy to provide details of any baptisms, marriages, burials, census returns that I have in my notes if this helps.
Yes, a lot of Allchurches settled in Amblecote - many of them were involved in clay mining. There seems to have been a lot of inter-marriage between the Allchurch and Aston families. Three of John Allchurch and Ann nee Simpkis's children married Astons - Sabina (1782-1863) to Richard Aston at Oldswinford in 1802; Thomas (1787-1844) to Mary Aston at Halesowen in 1819 and Elijah (1792-1843) to Mary Aston at Kingswinford in 1819.

Thanks, that's really useful.
No wonder I was initially confused if those two families on BCC are mixed up!
Just spotted another connection- that Mary Ann Meese must be one of mine.....

Think this is probably Elizabeth 'Bampfield ':
Bapt 5 July 1829, Kingswinford, Elizabeth dau of Isaac & Elizabeth Bamfield
Edit to add:
I think I'll start another thread on n the Bamfield family as I've found an interesting census entry which leads to more....
