19th Century collieries

Post by Frodo »

I'm looking for information, including location of the Blue Bell Colliery which Nathan Taylor says, in his biography, that he worked at for a short time around 1852. He also mentions working at two collieries near the Knowle if anyone knows which they might be (or could tell me where the Knowle is as I am not local).

In addition I'm also looking for the name of the colliery Jacob Billingham worked at - my father's cousin once told me it was on Stourbridge Road roughly at the top of Whitley Road but could not remember it's name.

Any information or advice on where to look please.
