My gt grandfather went to prison for beating up his lover (my gt grandmother) - and it would have been for murder if the cause of death had not been pneumonia :-(

Whilst unable to resist remarking that the most shocking thing about my ancestors is that my paternal grandfather voted Tory in reality I haven't found anything too awful about my ancestors other than the poverty in which they lived.
Currently investigating the Hillmans of Sussex.

Although not terribly shocking my Great Grandfather Nathan Taylor married Lucretia Round who died young and while she was alive their niece Martha Manger was living with them. She continued living in the house with Nathan after Lucretia's death - they eventually married and had two sons, the eldest of whom was my grandfather.
