My last Bugle - a price rise too far

Have stuck with the Backcountry Bugle for years but they have kept putting the price up recently now 90p !! less pages more advert pages .no apology or mention of the increase ,Won`t be buying it anymore

It's difficult for small publications, actually it's difficult for all publications, there's hardly one of them that isn't making a loss. With a reduction in advertising revenue because, although there are more of them, the cost of adverts is reducing constantly, and online competition, not just for advertising but copy as well. Add to that the introduction of higher minimum wages, increases in holiday, maternity & sickness leave and material costs spiralling upwards due to the fall in the pound after Brexit and it's hardly surprising that prices are rising.

Like everything else, if you don't buy it, you'll lose it.

Brexit !!!! Fall in the pound !!! It's created havoc with my pension !! I've had to cut back on so many things.You can forget vacations !!! It's now only 2 times a year instead of 4 !! And the Pro Brexit campaigners lied to the people ! Ooops sorry forget i said that !

The Bugle has lost its soul with new owners and the loss of its Cradley Heath base

The same thing has happened down here with the Blackmore Vale Magazine (popularly known as the Blackmail More ). It was bought up by Lord Rothermere (owner of the Daily Mail) who has a pad down on Cranbourne Chase and now has more from Bournemouth, Poole and the Chase than it does from the Blackmore Vale.

I no longer buy The Bugle, has lost it's authenticity. Now full of Adverts and Articles from not that long ago. Sad really used to be a great resource for Historians.
