A birth certif would give you mothers maiden name
so there is this possible one
1876
Surname Forename(s) Sub-District Registers At Reference
TAYLOR Tamar Halesowen Dudley Register Office HAL/037/411

or this poss one
1870
Surname Forename(s) Sub-District Registers At Reference
TAYLOR Sarah C Halesowen Dudley Register Office HAL/029/298

where did you get the Delilah bapt info from...as can't see that on any sites
would need tbc.

On the emigration on Ancestry looks like the correct family
Delilah Taylor
then on other page
Carrie Taylor age 10
Samuel Taylor age 8
Jno?? age 5
Tamar age 4
Annie??? age 3
Infant T ??

so looks like that is the same family as in 1881 census

This looks like death of samuel...although father is down as Samuel Taylor...could be an error
Name: Samuel Taylor
Birth Date: 16 Dec 1847
Birth Place: England
Death Date: 21 May 1911
Death Place: Chicago, Cook, Illinois
Burial Date: 24 May 1911
Cemetery Name: Mount Olive Cemetery
Death Age: 63
Occupation: Chain maker, Iron
Race: White
Marital Status: Married
Gender: Male
Street address: 1859 N. Albany Ave
Father Name: Samuel Taylor
Father Birth Place: England
Mother Birth Place: England
FHL Film Number: 1239897

The kids on the emigration in 1882 match kids in 1881 census
so looks like Samuel Taylor and Delilah Williams who marry in 1870 emigrate in 1882 with kids.
but on that marriage father for Samuel is a John.
So could be an error on the father for Samuel on death info ...if that is him above.

1861. Butchers Lane, Cradley.
Thomas Williams, head, 35, Labourer, Hereford, Rossmore
Sarah, wife, 45, Chain maker,
George Wood, son in Law, 21, Chain maker,
Thomas Williams, son, 14,
Delila, daur, 10,
Meshac, son, 8,
Henry, son, 5
Paul, son, 2, Cradley
All others born Rowley Regis

This works for me as George Wood is witness in 1870 marriage of Delilah Williams and Samuel Taylor
and
in 1861 Samuel Taylor is living with father John at Butchers lane Cradley
so the families prob knew each other.
so for me they get married in 1870 and with kids that check out on census emigrate to Usa illinois area.
I think the father put down as Samuel if that is Samuels death info is a mistake and should say John.

This is interesting...just added in to Bcc Sarah Caroline Woods marriage to Joseph Weaver
Sarah Caroline is the stepsister of Delilah Williams
they both have same mother Sarah Weaver
Mother Sarah Weaver marries George Wood then Thomas Williams

2 things
1. we have the name Caroline appearing in the family ...so maybe Delilah takes that name for her own dau Sarah Caroline (carrie) Taylor

2. Sarah Caroline Woods hubby Joseph Weaver has a sister Joannah who dies in Illinois Chicago
in 1897....and guess what.....somehow connects to me
Seems like Joannah Weaver and hubby John Tibbetts(my line) left to go to Illinois.

small world eh!

In case this may help you to recognise names, I have Samuel Gale Taylor (1848 - 21 May 1911) & Delilah Taylor's children's names down as: -

Sarah Caroline known as "Carrie" 1871
Samuel 1873
John Thomas 1874 - 1939
Tamar/Tamar May 1876 - 1938
Amy Annie 1880 - 1941
Isabela 1881
Florence Violet 1885
Pearl Amelia 1889 - 1939

If "Carrie" immigrated to USA, how did she marry Henry John Adams at St. John's, Halesowen on 18 August 1895? :?

Marriage 18 Aug 1895 St John The Baptist Halesowen Philip Henry ADAMS 23 B Stock Taker Belle Vale Hawne Father John Billingham Adams Stock Taker Sarah TAYLOR 22 S The Mount Boro' Father Samuel Taylor Labourer After Banns/After Banns/Both Signed
Wit; Samuel Taylor / Alma Adams

No idea which Samuel Taylor it was but seeing as Alma Adams is Philip Henry Adams' sister, there is a possibility of Samuel being Sarah C Taylor's brother.

The below census shows Philip Henry Adams as "married" and yet there is no sign of Sarah C Adams: -

1911 Census shows: -
Name Philip Henry Adams
Age in 1911 39
Estimated Birth Year abt 1872
Relation to Head Head
Gender Male
Birth Place Colley Gate
Civil parish Dudley
Search Photos Dudley, Worcestershire, England
County/Island Worcestershire
Country England
Street Address 138 Halesowen Road, Netherton Nr Dudle
Marital Status Married
Occupation Bundler Iron
Registration district Dudley
Registration District Number 372
Sub-registration district Dudley
ED, institution, or vessel 31
Household schedule number 119
Piece 17454
Household Members
Name Age
Philip Henry Adams 39
Philip Edwin Adams 11
David Mills 66
Mary Ann Mills 63
James Watkins 56

but Sarah Adams shown below could be Sarah C Adams nee Taylor but cannot find records of her having a sister called Elizabeth?: -
This Could be Sarah Adams
1901 Windmill Hill Halesowen Stourbridge Worcs.
Elizabeth Taylor Head 34 (m) born Lye Worcs.
Sarah Adams sister 28
John Taylor son 9
Mary E, Taylor dau 3
Annie Taylor dau 1
Rest born Cradley Worcs.

I just cannot find any records of Sarah C Taylor/Adams' death or what had happened to her afterwards?
