COMPLETED Thomas Poyner born abt 1845

Thomas marries Rebecca Penn in 1867, then in the 1871 census Rebecca is living with 3 of her children. Thomas doesn't appear in further censuses.

I've just been typing up the baptisms for Holy Trinity, Amblecote and found some of the children's baptisms. On the one for Henry baptised 20th March 1877 it says "Husband transported some years ago, living with another man" On these baptisms it doesn't give a father's name or his occupation.

So, can anybody find out for me please when and where was Thomas Poyner transported to because some of these children aren't his.

I'll add the baptism info I've found on BCC.

They stopped transportation in 1868 if that's any help.

Mmmmm, thanks very much for the info Jimmy. According to 4 of the children's baptism the father wasn't around! Will have to try and dig around a bit more.
