Re: Dissapearence?
I've ordered the birth certificate for Mark but not received it yet, I'm pretty much a novice at this, can you get marriage certificates? If so Sarah's parents should be on there.

You get the father on the marriage but hold on ordering that I may have notes on it on some of my look ups.
you wont get the mothers name on marriage certif.

ps you can look up quite a few of marriages at archives so always best to ask if you need help on look ups we have a section let me know if you need guiding with that. we have to post in there in a particular way.
It gets expensive ordering so look ups at archives and online info is brilliant and those that transcribe are marvellous

Re: Dissapearence?
GARDENER!!
COZ needs your help!!
John Walker and Elizabeth on census with niece...............cant link in that marriage in 1876 looks wrong
do you think that John Walker on 1881 is son of Emma Landers and Samuel Walker which would fit with Sarah Ann Brookes being neice as
John Walker and Elizabeth Chrimes are kids of emma and step bro and sis
that is the only thing I can think....and that that marriage is not the right couple in 1876 as the age is way out

Re: Dissapearence?
this is the 1876 at St Martin Tipton for a Joseph Walker and Elizabeth Davies...no idea if correct marriage ages are too out for me and occup wrong..Typo?
so think wrong marriage...
10 sept 1876 St Martin Tipton
John Walker 22 bach ironworker Tipton William Walker Iron worker
Elizabeth Davis 21 spinster Tipton George Davis labourer
banns
both sign
wit John Pool? X sarah Ann Pool
I agree, it doen't quite work out. Though the occupation is Ok because a shingler is something in the ironworks.

Maybe. You mean John Walker married Elizabeth Unknown?
Or it could just be a misleading entry. With Sarah A Brooks being niece of Harry and Sarah Davies, rather than the head of household?

Re: Dissapearence?
Thanks for your help you lovely people, Sarah gave birth to my Grandfather Mark in 1899, she married my GGrandfather (also Mark) in 1902. They had two other children William (1903) and Elizabeth (1907), she died about November 1908. Elizabeth married Horace Parker (b1905) in 1929; I have no further info yet on William.
Well, if NL's questions about the Tolley connection are correct, then I think this whole thing has been an entertaining red herring.

Re: Dissapearence?
Thanks Gardener, I can confirm the Ballfields connection as we lived there until I was 6 and my GFather (Mark b1899) lived next door to us.
Are we sure of the Thomas and Eliza Brookes are the right one's for Sarah? I do hope so as I've had a hewadache all afternoon.
Many thanks to all that bothered to help me out, it is very much appreciated.

Re: Dissapearence?
Northern Lass posted this
1902 BROOKES Sarah TOLLEY Mark Tipton, St Martin (Pepper Box) Sandwell Register Office 39/17/221
If you request a lookup for that marriage then it should give Sarah's father's name and occupation. You really need that to be certain of anything
I will add the details to the censuses above, but they seem to be OK.

Re: Dissapearence?
Ok so what we now think is that the Sarah Brookes has father Thomas?
I will disconnect Sarah from Edward.....
Steve you need to get to Sandwell archives and look up that 1902 marriage for Sarah and Mark Tolley see who father is
or you can order a certif .....free at archives to look up
can you let us know when you get the full info pls
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =131472535
Gardener...the other stuff on Bcc can still be ok?
just we don't know who that Sarah Ann Brookes with John and Elizabeth Walker belongs to?
should I slot her into being dau of Edward Brookes or leave off?
Steves is obviously another one ...........a Sarah Brookes not Sarah Ann.

Just leave her off I think. the stuff is all on here, and if she pops up later in a marriage certificate then she can be added. OK?
