ARC TBC..........John Harris (1721) married Jane (1725 1807)

Post by Waltzer7 »

A bit of a muddle here...

I have a John Harris (son of Benjamin Harris (1772) & Jane Shilvock (1778) born/baptised in Rowley Regis on 1721 marrying Jane (1725 - 1807) on 17 May 1752 at Clent, Worcestershire.

Their children were: -

Thomas (1802)
John (1809)
William Stanley (1817 - 1893)
Jane (1821)

In other trees of a similar era, the children's names differ from above... :?

LOL San, just had a look through the Vicar's Notes for Ben Harris, couldn't find them listed, unfortunately the Vicar did not get round to every household, some of the documents may have got lost over the years, the ones that have been published were found in someone's loft! Thanks goodness they did not get chucked in the skip like so much history has.

I must have been so tired that I confused myself when I typed the above :? Trying again, hopefully clearer this time round, starting with John Harris ...

John Harris (B: 1721) Married Jane ? (1725 - 1807) on 17 May 1752 at Clent, Worcestershire. Their children were: -

John 1753
Thomas 1753
Noah 1756
Mary 1759
Molley 1762
Thomas 1765
Sarah 1768
Benjamin 1772

Benjamin Harris (1772 - Died in Cradley) married Jane Shilvock (1778) on 22 August 1813 at Clent, Worcestershire. Their children were: -

Thomas 1802
John 1809
Benjamin 1811
William 1817
Jane 1821

Or should it be married Jane ? on 13 April 1800. Their children were: -

Sarah 1807
John 1809
Benjamin 1812
Joseph 1814
William 1817
Ann 1819

Joseph Harris married Ann White (I already have Joseph Harris marrying Ann White in our family tree)

Anyone got the St John Halesowen records and can verify the 13 April 1800
was it to a Jane Harris?

does he then marry a Jane shilvock I have those records will verify

will amend Bcc until we work out which Jane.

if he does marry twice then the kids will belong to those after the relevant dates.

the Clent one Benjamin is not a widr

so If the halesowen one checks out we have I think 2 Benjamin Harris marrying a Jane
one in 1800 at Halesowen
and
One in 1813 Clent

we know from marrige that Sarah Harris father is a Benjamin cordwainer and our Benjamin with Jane is a cordwainer
so makes sense to me that it is the 1800 marriage if that checks out.

is that Janes name on that Harris too?

can anyone find the bapts for the kids does it say occup for father on them (prob only be after 1813 we get that info I think(

St John Halesowen

Found Charles Baptism 16.3.1828 Son of Benjamin and Jane Harris Cradley Nailer.

Not sure if this is the same family, Ferdinando Baptism 28.10.1827 Illegitimate Son of Harriet Harris Cradley Mailer.

Sorry the two entries above are from HALESOWEN. Below are Cradley St Peter.

30.1.1814 Joseph son of Benjamin and Jinny Harris Cordwainer Cradley.
26.1.1817 William Stanley son of Benjamin and Jinny Harris Cordwainer Cradley

11.2.1821 Jane d of Benjamin and Jane Harris Baptised . Cordwainer, Near the Chapel,

so the family lived somewhere near St Peters.

Burial for a Wm Harris aged 19 May 1826. Is this Wm Stanley?
Burial for John Harris aged 77 June 1830

Missed this one - Jane d of Benjamin and Jane Harris Baptised 11.2.1821. Cordwainer, Near the Chapel, so the family lived somewhere near St Peters.

No other children Baptised for a Ben and Jane Cradley. The other couple must be the HALESOWEN Baps.

In your transcript book?

So what do you think Linell?

Sarah Harris that marries Noah hingley looks ok ......father on marriage cordwainer

so you think the cradley st Peter are our Benjamin and Jane and any kids bapt at halesowen are the other couple?
