I am shattered, physically and mentally. Only 2 of us made the final selections, cut a long story short we were attached to an existing team instead of a new team. last week, gosh that seems like a month ago, had to change shift over to the new shift patterns and have not been able to take 2 days off in a row for past 2 weeks.
Anyway I have been let loose on the public taking Lost and Stolen calls, and its all good, surprised how well I have got on and after a few days of playing with the software, have some extrodinary tales, but I guess its all confidential.
What amazed me was that my manager said that on the second day calls listened to I was achieving a standard which they expect only from people who have been doing it for 2 years.
Some people do like my voice, yes I do not think it sounds that great, but we all know who is a fan of my voice on here!
SO that got me thinking, how about having a go at recording audio books. Has anyone got a favourite book and chapter that I could have a go at reading? OF course it would help if it could be found online.

Hit a Brickwall? Have you lost all trace of someone? Do not despair, simply make a note they were abducted by aliens! Don't believe in aliens? No problem, just write them off as having disapeared in a time portal

Hey Andrew that is great news!!
Now come on you can tell us the stories we won't tell anyone!
How about ...and I have mentioned this prev....and I do hate to go on!!...but how about contacting some agencies that do voice overs.
Or google voice overs and how to get on the books....maybe agencies/ and get on their books?
What on earth are stolen or lost calls?
Is that where you think you have spoken to some one and it goes missing from your head?
Oh and Andrew start believing in yourself!
Take a leaf out of Rob's book and see how confident he is in all he does
mind you he does have to wear a leather jacket to get that buzz!

leather fetish huh.... erm ok moving on..
Sorry I was being a bit vauge, Lost and Stolen bank cards department, I am the chap you might get through to if you call up to report a card has been lost or stolen etc, I can then get that cancelled, new one sent out and have a nose through your bank accounts if you pass verification, to tell you all your recent and earmarked pending transactions.
I may tell some tales, but it would be stereotyping the Scottish and Scousers.

Work sound fun! And you want to record books too
There is this site https://librivox.org/ you could get some ideas from there maybe, even if you intend to do the job for profit in the future. Librivox seem to be in dire need of UK voices... Oscar Wild's letters read in a North American accent is a bit odd.
I suppose you want to start with something short. What do you like reading yourself?
