Hubbys family Rob , mine all from Oldbury and Dudley . His great grandfather Walter Green 1852- 1898 had a pub in Eyre St Birmingham got arrested for illegal gambling on premises ,and his son Watty Green 1878-1966 had a pub in Stewart St called The Cross Keys Springhill Birmingham , he ran a boxing ring upstairs from about 1911 which might have been illegal . He became legal and opened betting shops around Birmingham and was very well known

just watched it tonight. My first reaction was that the Brummie accents had improved.Polly in the first series had a Liverpool accent but now she'd obviously been practising her Brummie. Wot you think Mally?
What puzzled me a little was the impression of Small Heath. Was it so industrialized? Wot you think Mally?
They got poor Cilla in the end though did they cut his tongue out or just his gold fillings? Wot you think Mally?

I've seen a few of the first series, and I could definately here a scouse twang on several - if I hadn't know it was set in Brum, I wouldn't have been able to hear it! Hope they send the series here, so I can see the rest of the episodes!

Do i have a gold tooth? I had 4 fitted into my dentures not exactly on the front cos that makes people think you're flash, perish the thought. No on the side so that when i smile, which i do quite often, you see a hint of gold!! Adds to the mystery wot u think Mally?

What do I think?

Watched it last night and in my opinion Polly's brummie accent was crap!! She's still a brilliant actress though.
A bit too bloodthirsty for me last night but can't wait to see how the storyline developes.

Not sure about Small Heath being so industrialized, I googled it
