I.m very interested in finding out more about the COOKSEY family who were Canal boatman and women..

the first name I have is JOSHUA COOKSEY (Bc 1695??? - D 21 Feb 1729) who married a MARY FOX (Bc1700??? ) 10 April 1721 in Halesowen,

They 4 children
WILLIAM Bapt 25 Sept 1721,
MARY Bapt. 17 Jun1723.
JOSHUA Bapt 21 Feb 1725 these 3 B in Sedgley,
Thomas Bapt 8 Jan1727 Buried 8 Jan 1729 in HalesoweN.

JOSHUA married a SARAH ROUND in HALESOWEN 30 jAN 1751 she was born o1 Nov 1730??? and Buried 9 April 1805 in Halesowen. JOSHUA was Buried 10 Mar 1793.

They had 8 Children most died young except

THOMAS bAPT 23 APRIL 1764
and CHARLES Bapt 28 Jul 1771 in Olbury D 1848??? Halesowen.

charles Married ANN WINDSOR 2 SEP 1793 HALESOWEN. nothing known,

they had 4 children

SARAH Bapt. 23 Mar 1795 Olbury
WILLIAM 4 SEPT 1803. Oldbury.
CHARLES 9 APRIL1805 Halesowen,
SAMUEL 9 June 1811 Halesowen.

WILLIAM my GGGrandfather Married Hannah?????????? she D Dec 1881 Daventry They were both Capt.!!!! of various canal boats

CHARLES married a HANNAH STEAVONS 30 Aug 1824 in Halesowen she Bc 1802????

SAMUEL buried 24 Oct 1880 in Smethwich and Married ANN ??? AND ELIZABETH????

Most of the dates are from the COOKSEY one name SOC.

any further info would be greatly apprecated

Yes it is John I did'nt notice that I had mistyped my name before I entered it.

Also I only checked the Canal bits from William 1803 onwards ie I have not idea what the occupations of
the earlier names that I entered, were.

Petered. Benjamin is the Grandson of William and Hannah His parents are Thomas COOKSEY and Sarah Jane Blackham
Thomas is the eldest son DOB 1 Feb1824. they were M 26 Aug 1850 in Handsworth.
I have no idea of Hannah surname

could this be them...

William Cooksey 35 MS (y)
Hannah Cooksey 30 (y)

I don't think it is cos this Hannah in 1851 is a Laundress b. Quatt, Shropshire

William COOKSEY as far as I can see Died between these two census but have not been able to confirm. When or where.
Hannah his wife Died in Daventry in or about 1881

I had an email asking me if a Joshua Cooksey b. 1695 in Halesowen. who married Mary Fox on 10 Apr 1721 was in my tree.

I couldn't find anything relevant on BCC.
