I have come across this Edward on the Huntingdonshire War Memorial site and can not figure out which family he belongs to. I've tried the censuses, Free BMD and familysearch but no Edward that fits. I'd like to get him properly remembered with his family.

Re: Edward Byatt - WWI casualty
Almost forgot - his regimental number was 496458 - his medal card has very little information

Re: Edward Byatt - WWI casualty
Those Percys are all one and the same and well accounted for - they are also older than this Edward, who was 18 when he died. I'm in touch with a relative of Percy's and he knows nothing of this Edward. That's what's driving me batty. My husband is the Byatt and they all seem to have clustered and given their kids the same names. Edward was the earliest ancestor on the tribe so with this fellow being in the area and named Edward - there is a better than even chance he's part of my husband's bunch - just how?

Re: Edward Byatt - WWI casualty
I was thinking that Edward may well have lied about his age in order to get into the forces - as so many boys did. So it would be well to look a little earlier than 1900 as well.

Re: Edward Byatt - WWI casualty
I found a Teddy Byatt age 11 on the 1911 census living with his grandmother Ruth (widowed) in St Ives but no clue as to parents. I have Ruth and her husband Reuben on the 1901 - they had three sons and two daughters that I know of - two sons are living with them - the two daughters are in service and the third son is single and lodging elsewhere. No sign of Teddy. But both the 1911 census and his dath record would have him born in 1900, he should be somewhere. And should have at least a mother. None of the BND births seem 'right'.
Ideas?
