ARC TBC.....Lawley Fisher Little Downing Connection?

Post by nelly »

I have looked up the marriage of Thomas W Lawley (b.1854) and Annie Fisher (b.1849) at St Johns, Kates Hill.
July 2nd 1875 Thomas aged 21, bachelor, Engineer, Residing in Netherton, Father Joseph Engineer
Annie aged 26, spinster, Residing in Netherton, Father Richard profession unclear possibly engineer
Both signed. Witnesses Francis & Louisa Downing.
I have scanned in the marriage record, so if anybody wants a copy I can email it across.

Now, being nosey, I looked up Francis & Louisa Downing on the bcc site.
According to the 1871 census, I think Annie’s sister Eliza Fisher (b.1854) was working for/visiting the Downings & was a Grocers Assistant.
Also, Louisa Downing’s (b.1831) maiden name was Little, Annie Fisher’s mother was Eliza Little (b.1822). So, could Louisa & Eliza Little be sisters?
On bcc they both have a father named Edward Little, one born 1795 and one born 1799.
Could they be the same person?
Likewise, there are 2 Louisa Littles on bcc. Both born 1831, the only difference is one has a middle name of Bosswell.
So then, is it possible that these Little families are connected or is it just a coincidence?
What do you think?

Would think it is this one Peter, it is nearest to her age?

Hannah Baylis
christening: 26 May 1815 PENCOMBE,HEREFORD,
father: Thomas Baylis
mother: Ann

Are those Baps just submitted entries Peter, all have parents Thomas and Ann?

Nice we have her on the picture, not often do we find photo's with someone born in the early 1800's, she must have been in her 90's when she died.

Think the Halesowen Hannah Bayliss probrably died, never found anything for her when I looked.

Linell.
