COMPLETED - Peter Pope 1911 census query

Post by SRD »

I have a Peter Pope b 1886 to Alfred & Caroline, married Rosina Elizabeth Curtis 11th March 1907 and died in France 26th September 1915.
But I'm somewhat discombobulated by the Marriage/Children section of the 1911 census entry:

Has anyone any ideas on the matter?

Looks like married 4 years, 2 children born, 0 living, 2 died.
May be made a mistake adding 3 because its crossed out to 2.

Think they may have been confused by the question:
probably had 2 children born alive & then died...& 1 born dead
or miscarried?

Further research shows that the wife, Rosina Elizabeth (née Curtis) had a bastard child, William Henry, in 1904. I can't find a specific death record but I wonder if that is what they meant.
