So anyway, I think that Richard Stokes is actually the person baptized as Richard Young.

Anyone buy that idea?

Seem to have siblings:

Nancy b.abt. 1830
John b.abt. 1826
Mary Ann b. abt. 1827

Mother Mary Richards from Norfolk.
Could be this marriage for her perhaps?

I think this John Richards married in Lambeth Jan 28th 1885
wife Sarah Eliza Hunt but John left his father's name blanck :(

1891 Lambeth
Sarah E Richards 41
John W Richards 6
Charlotte C Richards 4

John Richards 55
Sarah Richards 50
John Richards 16
Charlette Richards 14

1911 West Brom
John Richards 65

So, I think we need this marriage 1853 marriage

Hmm! Good question.

Births Jun 1851
Young Richard W Bromwich 18 663

There is this one, though I can't find him in the 1851 census:

Births Dec 1850
Stokes Richard W Bromwich 18 609

He might have died before 1861 census.

I tried to find William Stokes in 1841 to see what children he has there but i can't find him. It is all a bit confusing.

Mary Oakley was from Norfolk I think, so perhaps she married elsewhere?

I also think his parents were Richard Young 1812-1891 and Susan Adlam 1812-1883; they also lived in Lichfield when Richard Young was born :). Harriet is from Lichfield too, lived in Bromwich in 1871. Richard and Harriet lived together in 1881 on 32 Hill Street. I just noticed right next door on 30 Hill Street there is a William Stokes(65) and his wife Mary A. (55)....they live with their step-son John Richards who is either 25 or 35 can't read it.

I'm confused now :) too many Williams and Richards...
