What kind of animal does this.....

Post by MarkCDodd »

My cousins are very upset at the desecration of their mother's grave at the Smethwick Thimbermill Cemetery.

The flowers, vases and other memorial pieces placed on the tombstone were broken and scattered all over the place.

No other grave was touched as far as they know.

Nobody they know would have a reason to do it.

Anybody else know of similar incidents lately?

You hear about it so often, its so disrespectful...
Im so sorry for your family and I hope someone is found who did it.

Any chance it was accidental? There seems to have been a recent burial at the next plot. If they had a large crowd of people perhaps there was some accidental trampling and then the little lanterns/vases were pulled up and placed behind for safety. (In Pollyanna-mode this morning, as my eldest child sets of on round the world trip).

At first I blamed the lovely weather you guys have been having. But the burial next door is a good one!

If no other grave was touched, then the main culprit is going to be Mr or Mrs Fox. If it was vandalism you normally have numerous graves desecrated, I doubt its a grudge against family.

If it was not MR Fox, then it could have just been genuine accidental damage, someone drunk not too good on legs etc.

Last year when I went to visit some of my relations graves in Dudley ,and Oldbury , I was expecting the worse after reading that many graveyards had been vandalized in the past . Happily I found they were all being kept very tidy , so I am very sorry to hear of your distress .
