Received 'Death Cert' for Samuel stating:
14735 Private Samuel WESTON age 28 England.
died: 15/16.5 1915 Richebourg. Killed in Action.
details from 'Forces War Records' state: b.Cradley,Worcs.
residing in Stourbridge. Have added this in notes for Samuel.

Incidently certified copy of DEATH CERT: states:
died in War of 1914 to 1921...is this a mistake????

I think they wanted to include soldiers who died from wounds or illness received during the war but died after 1918, however It's complicate how they worked out the years of who would officially qualify for death on active service but this link will explain further:

This quote from the above link sums up the answer to your question well :
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (where I obtained the data) has records for 75,501 deaths between 12th November 1918 and 31st August 1921 (with 31 August being the end of “designated war years” for the First World War). While this is still a hugely significant amount of deaths, it pales to the amount of deaths incurred during the active war years.
