Ann Nock (Dudley / R.Regis)
Hi all,
has anyone any information on an Ann Nock (husband James Nock), believed to have died sometime after the birth of last son Edward Nock in 1828.. Cant find her or James anywhere on 1841 census. There are some deaths listed on West Mids BMD but no ages..
Possibilities of her maiden being Priest or Freeman
Any help would be appreciated
Regards

Hi peterd,
first born was Ann Maria 1815 St Thomas, Dudley.... Do however have afeeling that there were children before that ie John Nock 1806 R.Regis.. seems to be somewhat of of abig gap from marriage in 1806 to 1st child in 1815; would have been likely to have had children straight after marriage do you think ?

Hello peterd,
yeah they are linked and indeed are the children of James Nock & Ann.
Need to try and link the John Nock and others listed on IGI to James and Ann. Have already established (on Black Country Connections) that Ann Maria, Joseph, Edward, James, Thomas who are registered at St Thomas Dudley are James & Ann's.
Still trying to find out when James was born and which Ann he indeed married - plus when they both died .... ITS A BLOOMIN NIGHTMARE !!!

Hi ya,
I must admit that entry did throw me somewhat.. The IGI says her Christening is St Thomas, Dudley... will find out where Daventry is... What do you mean by Hugh Wallis ?

Hi nocky if you are talking about the ann maria nock dont forget I actually looked in the parish registers for some of these kids and checked them myself.
You should have a copy of the findings or they were posted on a thread in the archives.
But I think she was one of the ones checked for parents.

Re: Ann Nock (Dudley / R.Regis)
Hi ya,
yes I remember you checking her out for me... I think her listing as being born in Daventry is a mistake on the census transcript and possibly should have read Dudley.
A quick Q'n if I may : If I were to phone Sandwell Records Office up and ask for a check on James Nock & Ann Nock giving their approximate death dates and ages; how much of an in depth search would they do for me ? I fully understand that searches are very time consuming and would like to do it myself but haven't got the time just yet. This James and Ann have got me baffled I must say. Its frustrating not being able to find vital info about them.

Hi nocky
think they charge so much an hour but ask em nice people there.
Did you try both sandwell and dudley regis offices re a death cert saying you only want it if the person is aged about so and so
and dying say from civil regis starting and that as a 5yr sweep
as they I believe search 2 yrs either side of a year given.
