children of William and Hannah Braden for BCC-NL adding

Post by dbraden »

I have collected some information on the children of William and Hannah Braden for BCC,
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/fa ... den-Family

If added to BCC, this can be moved to archives.

The following baptisms are from the FreeReg transcriptions of the registers of St
Thomas, Dudley, except for the first record, which I transcribed
myself from a microfilm of one of the parish registers. These are the
only baptisms for anyone with a surname like "Braden" being christened
in the church between 1789 and 1812, so I am fairly confident that they are
all for the same set of parents.

Margaret dr of William + Hannah Briden 7 Oct 1792

Hannah, parents William and Hannah Brydean, 25 Sep 1796
Mary, parents William and Hannah Bryden, 30 Jan 1803
William, parents Will.m. and Hannah Bryden, 27 Oct 1805
Jane, parents William and Han.h. Bryden, 14 May 1809

The son, William, is already on BCC, but his death year is wrong. It
should be 1835 instead of 1838 (his father died in 1838). Again from
FreeReg:

Place: Dudley Staffs
Church: St Thomas
BurialDate: 03 Dec 1835
Forename: William
Surname: BRAIDEN
Age: 30
Abode: Tipton

The daughter, Margaret, married Joseph Walton in All Saints, Sedgley
(parish register):

Joseph Walton of this parish bachelor and Margaret Breythin of the
same spinster were married in this church by banns this 18th day of
December in 1808 by Jno Powell, curate in the presence of John Newton
and Sarah X Cose. (Joseph and Margaret signed by mark)

This must be the Margaret Walton who signed the death certificate of
her father, William Braden, when he died in 1838.

I will post a separate item for the daughter, Hannah. I don't yet
know what happened to Mary or Jane.
