that burial fits with Benjamins first wife Sarah being Sarah Wassell:

There are these baptisms, both at Brierley Hill:
21 June 1818, Sarah d of William & Sarah Wassell
8 Aug 1830, Eliza d of William & Sarah Wassell
Remember - in 1841 Benjamin has an Eliza Wassell, aged 10, living with him, and his wife, Sarah, who has presumably died, is not there.

Jo
Do you think this is enough to confirm Benjamin Shakespeare's marriage was to Sarah Wassell ( I do!) - if so needs adding to BCC

They ARE on BCC:

I think the family are Benjamin and Sarah Shakespeare as sp1 said.
The nephews could possibly be,
Benjamin, Elijahs son, it looks like 1871 he is with his sister
Could Pricilla really be Emma, Williams daughter?
Not sure about Joseph?
Maria is with her Mother in 1841 and possibly as a servant in Rowland Price a solicitor household?
1851. Upper High Street, Stourbridge, servant, 35, House servant, Kingswinford

Also Henry Shakespeare, Elijah son is down on BCC as Mary Anns son but as Elijah is already a widower is Henry Maria son?
1871. Park? Street, Kingswinford
Elijah Shakespeare, head, 60, Miner
Maria, wife, 55
Henry, son, 11
All born Kingswinford

Yes it does look right. I have asked for a look up of a possible marriage for Eliza, see what that says too. Thats if I have picked the right one!
This benjamin though is from another lot of Shakespeares.
I think I have added all I can for Maria and family...
Sp1 if you have chance would you have a look please.
Jo :)
