St George's Day

Post by gardener »

Happy St George's day to everyone.
It is also First Day of Summer in Iceland so happy summer too!
I expect most of you are having more summery weather than I am though.

And it is also the day traditionally observed for Shakespears Birthday!

"This date, which can be traced back to an eighteenth-century scholar's mistake, has proved appealing because Shakespeare died on 23 April 1616." wiki info

Lots to be proud about England and our heritage!
From the bard himself who gave us some wonderful phrases " to wear your heart on your sleeve"
to our food, music and famous buildings people and wonderful places in this Great Country of ours.
