Edward Jukes and family

Post by mumbles »

Have added more to this family that Jan and others previously researched

http://www.bcconnections.tribalpages.co ... =109951758

I believe Pharez Jukes married Sarah Blunt born 1825 at St. John Evangelist Kates Hill Dudley 1852
but died in 1862 after appearing with Blunt family in 1861 as Thos. Pewks and Sarah Pewks ( All on bcc)

1861 Census 52 Bug Hole Dudley Worcs.
Francis Blunt Head 47 Collier born Tipton Staffs.
Hannah Blunt wife 46
Isaiah Blunt son 19 Collier
William F. Blunt son 16 Collier
Christiahannah Blunt dau 10
Thomas Blunt son 6
Ester Blunt dau 4
Ellen Blunt dau 1
Thomas Pewks lodger 28 Coal Miner
Sarah Pewks lodger 26
S. Mary Pewks lodger 4
Emmily Pewks lodger 1
Rest born Dudley Worcs.

I think Sarah then married a John Ware or Ward or Wall at St. James Dudley 1867

1871 High Street Simons Passage
John Ware Head 346 Coal Miner born Tipton Staffs.
Sarah Ware wife 37 Nailer born Dudley Worcs.
Emily Ware dau 12 born Dudley Worcs.
Hannah Ware dau 2 born Tipton Staffs.
Sarah Ware dau 2 born Tipton Staffs.

John then dies and Sarah Appears on 1881 Census as Ward

1881 Census 1 Court 2 Canal Street Tipton Staffs.
Sarah Ward Head 48 (wid) Nail Maker born Tipton Staffs.
Emila Ward dau 20 Brickmaker born Dudley Worcs.
Hannah Ward dau 11 Scholar
Ester Jane Ward dau 8
Catherine Smith lodger (wid) 57
Rest born Tipton Staffs.

1891 Census 2 Court Watery Lane Tipton Dudley Staffs.
Sarah Ward Head 60 (wid)
Hannah Ward dau 23 Brickmaker
Esther Jane Ward dau 18 Brickmaker
All born Tipton Staffs.

I think this is all right and I can connect but I am thrown a bit by Wall or Ward or Ware changes and where is John before 1871 Census

21 March 1852 at St John, Kates Hill
Pharez Jukes, O, B, Miner, Dudley, Edward Jukes, Horse Nail Maker
Sarah Blunt, M, S, Dudley, Francis Blunt, Miner
Wit: Joseph Jukes, Sarah Wallier??

On FreeBMD the second marriage of Sarah Blunt/Jukes is to John WARR

On the 1861 census where you have Thomas(Pharez) Pewkes(Jewkes) & Sarah, their child, S. Mary aged 4, is actually Phares their son on the image on Ancestry. It looks as though this child died in the Mar Qtr 1857.
Researching: PARGETER, BELCHER, BRADLEY, DANDO, ROWLEY, ROWSELL

Thanks RF
That ties it down as Warr
which is contradicted by later Census Records which look like Ware, and Ward
