His wife, Betsy Dancer, was born 13 Jan 1813 (recorded at Brierley Hill Baptist Chapel) - the Dancer family were Baptists. Her father, William, was born 1775, Kingswinford, and her mother was an Elizabeth Richards (they m 19 July 1798 Kinver). William's father, also William, was bapt 15 Aug 1741, Old Swinford. He married a Sarah Bivern (Bevan??) 1766 in Kingswinford.

There is a "Black History Month" held every year in October. Dudley Archives & Local History Service always put on a display for this event. A few years ago, they put on a display regarding Reverend George Cosens which included census information, marriage, death etc., and photographs of the chapels where George Cosens was the vicar.
Because of the move of Dudley Archives, no one will be able to access the information until next year.
