Re: Transcription help please
1 awating trial on 24/3/15 ? FGCM (Field General Court Marshall ?) on 29/3/15 looks like a charge of insurboardination in refusing to obey a superior officer
2 looks like dissmissed and given a 3 months sentence ?

Re: Transcription help please
Thanks that's given me several pointers.
How about:
"?? awaiting trial 24-3-15 tried by FGCM 29-2-15 for (1) When on active service leaving his fatigue without orders from his superior officer.
(2) When on active service: Drunkenness.
& sentenced to 3 months F.P. No 1. Promulgated 21(?)-3-15
I wish I could work out the first word.
He was a naughty man, that's the bottom entry on a page of misdemeanours and I've just got to the second page......
It's British Army WWI Pension Records 1914-1920>S>Sm>Smi>12331, 12332 on Ancestry if you're interested.

Re: Transcription help please
I think it says
In arrest awaiting trial...
(if you Google that as a phrase with quotation marks round it then some military sources come up so it seems valid phrasing.

Re: Transcription help please
Thanks to your efforts I've managed to work my way through the following page all bar one word.
In the entry attached I think it reads:
"in arrest awaiting trial 22/5/16
Tried by FGCM 2/6/16 for when in active service using ? language to his superior officer.
Found guilty & sentenced to 84 days FP No.1. Confirmed by Maj Gen Cowdy 23rd Div."
It's the word between using & language that I can't work out.

Re: Transcription help please
could the missing word be "insubordinate" - it certainly starts with an i.

Re: Transcription help please
the first word which you asked about of to my eye looked like inquest.but having seen the other interpretation as in arrest and bearing in mind it is written in a military context, the later interpretation seems the more plausable.
