Just having a quick look but I think Spark stopper is right. The marriage states James as a Farmer
The other census here shows him as furnace man...........

William Louis was actually 7 on the original -- this is a mis transcription --
married 9 years and only one child born and living -- if it is this James he had a previous marriage

Yes Sarah Hayward is my g.father's mother.

So far I have only managed to find 1 other marriage which gives James occup as ironworker and no mention of being deceased. 9 of the sibs of Thomas died before they were old enough to marry
