ARC TBC - Brick Wall- Thomas German- Wedensbury

HELP

I have had this brick wall for 2 years and getting nowhere.

My GG Grandfather was the bandmaster of Crown Tube in Wednesbury late 1890's,

I can find his marrages, including one to a bigamist, and his childrens births, all 13 or so but nothing of his birth.

He claims to have been born 1844/5 in Aberdeenshire as Thomas German. I can find him on census from 1861 as a drummer boy in Salford but no idea of birth.

Any suggestions please advise. I can not find him on Scotlands People and no birthis in Scotland for the right time..
