Fern Britton ,only lost weight because she had a gastric band , i don't blame her , but she kept it a secret for a long time ,and got a lot of praise . Sorry if i sound bitchy. i would have it if i could afford it ,and my doc says i am not fat enough on nhs :lol: :lol:

I thought it was o.k. I've always thought that being in a Workhouse was probably better than being destitute, at least they got fed, albeit meagre portions, and a bed.

I found it unbelievable that Barbara T-B didn't know anything about her mother's childhood. Did she ever speak to her mother? Surely there would have been some little snippet of her mother's upbringing?

BTB was quoted in the paper when she aproached the subject of her mother childhood she got a vauge answer and the subject was changed ?
A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

Hmm ,I would have thought she knew , probably embarrassed by how poor she was. Perhaps it was the premarital sex . :o
