Afraid I had no luck with this, not recorded on any of the parish registers held at Wolves archives, so either married at Reg Office or at one of the non conformist churches that have not released their registers.

Re: wolverhampton
It is possible that the marriage took place in one of the Churches in Bilston, which even though it is in Wolverhampton RD the parish records are held at Walsall. I looked at all 25 parish records held on micro fiche at the archives as well as the records for all of the Methodist churches in the area that the archives hold and the 3 Catholic Churches that have released the registers.
So 3 possibilities
1 Marriage held at Walsall Archives
2 marriage at a non conformist church
3 married at registry office

Re: wolverhampton
Hi
I have checked St Leonard's, St Luke's and St Mary's in Bilston as well as all the other parishes listed on the http://www.wolverhamptonhistory.org.uk/ ... es/indexes and those that are held at Wolves but not on the site mentioned. Will be back at Wolves archives today and will have another look at those Bilston Parishes

Re: wolverhampton
I am convinced that this item is a reg office entry only
I have been using a technique to give me a clue
What I do is to go to FreeBMD search page
Using the above details of the marriage
Select the year and quarter in both start and finish boxes (Mar 1876)
Select the district (wolverhampton)
Select wolverhampton code (6b)
leave everthing else blank
start the search
the search will generate maybe about 200 indexs
copy and paste all of the indexes into an excel spreadsheet and
rearrange in order so as to see the total range of numbers used
it is clear that 729 is near the end of the range in this case
Normally churches are listed in alphabetical order with the reg office entries last
If you have followed this it may be of some use in the future
