Not had many the last couple of years but we do use BBQ lighters like the fire lighters Peterd said. As long as its well burned through I havent noticed a taste from it.

Like so many of the flavours we add to food one can become pretty tolerant of the flavour of the chemicals, they're used in a lot of ready meals & snacks as well, but I found that when cleaning the BBQ the next day I could still smell them in the debris and ash, and, like the screwed up mouth effect one can get the day after an over-salted meal, one doesn't necessarily notice it when eating it.grangers14 wrote::roll:
