"Complete"Rhodes / Hadley puzzle

Post by mumbles »

This Martin Hadley was added by Jo and additional info by myself
http://www.bcconnections.tribalpages.co ... =970751178
Additional info now shows that Rhodes and Hadley families lived next door in 1841 and that Jane Rhodes aged 1 and Ann Rhodes 8 and John Rhodes 20 is with Hadley Family
but in 1851 Census a daughter Ann Rhodes 28 is with Hadley family

Then Maggie has added same Rhodes family
http://www.bcconnections.tribalpages.co ... =783605233

Showing Jane Rhodes as daughter of Thomas and Mary Rhodes

Somehow the Rhodes and Hadley family must be connected ? and how can Ann Rhodes be a daughter of Martin Hadley unless daughter of Sarah before marriage to Martin Hadley.
Also whose parents are John Rhodes ?

Janes Rhodes went on to marry Thomas Colbourne in 1859 St. Mark Pensnett

Whilst trying to solve puzzle came across post by Peterd for Solomon Bullas who is waiting for look up to confirm marriage to a Sarah Hadley

http://www.bcconnections.tribalpages.co ... =426308984

Sarah Hadley who was widow of Martin Hadley was lodger in 1881 with Solomon Bullas and Sarah

In 1871 Solomon and Sarah have daughters Hannah and Ann Hadley with them which means that Sarah had children before marriage .
This is confirmed by 1861 Census Showing Sarah Hadley widow of Martin and unmarried daughter Sarah and correct children as grand children
1861 Census Snow Hill & Badger Square Dudley Worcs.
Sarah Hadley Head (wid) 61
Sarah Hadley dau 30 (u) Nail Maker
George Hadley son 19
James Hadley grd.son 8 Scholar
Hannah Hadley grd.dau 7
Ann Hadley 4
Mary Evans boarder (m) 22 Nail Maker
Susannah Evans boarder 3
All born Dudley Worcs.

I have not added children of Solomon and Sarah Bullas yet as some born before 1867 marriage and some after marriage and some shown as Bullas on 1871 but were probably registered as Hadley

Sorted John Rhodes and Ann Rhodes from 1841 Census as
found Marriage John Rhodes married Ann Hadley 1840 St. Martin Pepper Box Tipton
So this is why she is Shown as daughter of Hadleys in 1851
