*Completed* -Joseph Bate and Elizabeth marriage c1810-12

Post by Carol »

Wondered if anyone could help fill in this long outstanding gap in my tree

My 4xGtGrandfather Joseph Bate was born 1792 in Tipton and Christened at St Martins Tipton
He married Elizabeth ?
estimated date 1808 to 1813 and most likely dates 1810-1812-best guess 1812
First child arrived April 1813 and went on to have loads more all christened at Tipton St Martin - no need to reseach children as I've flogged this to death so to speak

but the marriage has eluded me
It could perhaps have taken place at Dudley St Thomas as other close family connections around this time taken place here
Any help much appreciated

If anyone has Tipton St Martins register I don't think there is any point in checking that as several pairs of eyes have been through that before and 99.9999% sure its not there

Hi Peter and Jimmy-wow amazed at your quick responses yet again.

Thanks for all those sibblings Peter. The only one I had was Mary who we discussed on a different thread.
I don't think any of the marriages you found peter feel right. The one that jimmy found to is a possibility at Clent although I would be more convinced if it were Dudley . Is Clent near to Tipton? I know it was the mother church or Rowley Regis but St Giles would have been in use around 1810 anyway and I can't see why they would have wandered that far so early on.

I also feel 1810 is a little early, considering they had so many children in total it seems unlikely they would have waited 2 years before having their first child.

Looking at dates I can also elinminate the Clent one as Joseph would only have been 15 in 1807.

What I really need is 1812 at Dudley-that is the challenge!

Could I add this one for a look up please-
Joseph Bate to Elizabeth?
Most likely place I can think of of is
Dudley , St Thomas
earleist possible 1810, latest possibly April 1813
Most likely around early 1812
Place of birth for Joseph Bate-Tipton

Thanks
Carol
