ARC TBC - Enoch Hadley/Dingley

Post by leahdin »

Have seen quite a few discussions on Enoch, but does anyone know why he changed his name to Dingley before his death.
Enoch Hadley son of Rebecca, born 1830 died 1876 a puddler. His son Joseph 1868 ,was my husbands grandfather, on census he was Hadley but by the time he went to Mancetter to learn stone setting he was Dingley. When he came to Northumberland and settled down he was a DINGLE. Can anybody shed any light on this conundrum??
