can we find any thing on benjamin and family please

WW1 record? the problem is I don`t know which regiment he was in.I know he served in France, his name was John James Matthews born 1886 Wednesbury Staffs, his father `s name was Benjamin Matthews.Not much information, probably not enough to be of any help

The family address was 100 Ocker Hill Road. wednesbury

I would have thought at the age of 49 in 1911 he was not involved in the war, I could be wrong.
