Born in 1873 in Tividale to William Roberts and Maria Parkes. William is the illegitimate son of Mary Roberts but always used the surname of Bailey.

Thomas can be found on the following Census Records:
1881 : Aged : 8 - Living at 33, Tipton Road, Tividale
1891 : Aged : 18 - Living at 24, Tipton Road, Tividale - Colliery Labourer
1901 : Aged : 26 - Living at 34, Tipton Road, Tividale - Coal Miner
1911 : Aged 36 - Living at 31 Tipton Road, Tividale, Coal Miner, Head of the house with his siblings

There is a brother Lambeth born in 1875.

His date of birth on the card is the 11th Aug 1875.

Could never find a baptism for Thomas, but there is a baptism for Lambert Bailey, 1 Dec 1875 to William and Maria at St Michaels in Tividale. I think this is him and he used the name of Thomas. His brother Lambert, according to the 1911 Census is born around 1889.

The brother Lambert born in 1875, dies in 1876 and is buried at St Giles, so I think he probably took this as his second name in homour of his brother.
