Re: lenches war memorial
Harry Bradshaw must be an expat to be in the AIF. Or on holiday in Oz when the war started. Let me have a look in our National Archives.....

Re: lenches war memorial
Yep...he lasted 4 days in France.
He enlisted in Bowen, Queensland on the 28th March 1916. There must be another Bradshaw relative in Queensland as there is some correspondence when he was missing in action.
He arrived in France on the 1st January 1917 and was killed in action on the 5th January 1917.
He was in the 9th Infantry Battalion AIF and had the regimental number 6223.
His place of birth is Evesham, Worcestershire.
On enlistment he was 18 years and 4 months of age.
His Next Of Kin is his father, Arthur, living at The Leys, near Eveshan, Worcestershire.
The death telegram was sent to:
Mr. Arthur Bradshaw,
Harvington,
Near Eavesham,
Worcestershire,
ENGLAND.
