This is very interesting , they must have all been friends. I cannot find a family link ,but then i don't know who everybody married . I will keep the info you have given me and attach it to my tree, and hope I can find out more . Thank you all. To be on my great grandmothers and my great aunts marriage must mean they were well liked,or just bought good pressies
Thanks to everyone.

David Mackay and Eliza Danks are on lots of marriages at St Andrews as wits
so they may have been something to do with the church?

I think you are right Nl ,about it to do with the church. I think because they were brother and sister, the brother being a sexton for St Andrews, they probably suggested they would witness the marriage especially if they married without the family's knowledge. Still its nice to know who they were . Many thanks.

I read the headstone Pete, and i found it very interesting that you can gain so much information from so little. Thank you for showing it to me

Hi everyone, its been a while since I've posted on this site. Just had a quick look at this post and thought I'd let you know Solomon Danks is already on bcconnections. His first wife Eliza Mackay left the family home after a short time and went to live with her brother David. Solomon then had a family with Eliza Jones but I have never found a confirmed marriage for them. You did look up a 'supposed' date but it was not confirmed. If you look for Florence Dean (my gd mother), her gd father was Solomon.
Who is researching this family or are they after the Mackays. Haven't fully read the post as I have limited access at the library, will do now, have 30 mins left.

Tink the post was trigger due to eliza danks & david mackay croping up as witnesses on a marriages it looks like bro and sis were a part of the church and must of stood in when couples need witness for there marriages
