As long as it tastes good, I don't mind which animal the meat comes from. I've tried most things, although not frogs legs!!
That being said I do want to know what I'm eating, and where it came from.

I have eaten Snake, Crocodile, Wallaby (a small breed of kangaroo), Emu ( a six foot high bird with no brain), Goanna (a six foot long lizard) and wild boar.

I love Kangaroo and it is one of the healthiest meats in the world.

I have tried eating honeypot ants but they were way too sweet for me.

I have eaten a live witchetty grub but much prefer them slightly roasted and dead.

I used to love blood pudding and used to have fried lamb brains for lunch.

I will try anything that somebody has eaten before and survived to tell the tale.

But I want to know what I am eating so the fact they substituted horse for beef is wrong because of the deception, not the type of meat.

However, I do love Australian Meat Pies and there is not guarantee of what is inside those things...

I agree Mark, we want to know what we're eating.
Makes me wonder, before dna testing was available and cheap, we were probably eating all sorts without knowing!

There was a scandal here in Denmark a few years ago, when the supermarkets were selling minced beef that had traces of pork in it. The supermarkets in question lost loads of customers and haven't recovered as yet - but it knocked the problem on the head - no traces of "foreign" meat in any sort of minced meat now.

I read on text tv, that there were maybe italian and polish mob elements to the horsemeat in the UK!

thats what we get for having produce in the eu on the label if it was marked prodced in the uk then the farmed assure label added it, we would be able trace the meat back to the farm of origin and even back to the animal feed that went in it, and even where the feed prodcers obtianed its raw materials for the feed. but that what happens went general labeling occurs ?
