Matilda (b. 1833) and Elizabeth (1840) were the daughters of John Cardo and Elizabeth nee Shaw.
Matilda married Richard Male at St. Mark's Church, Pensnett:
14-10-1860 Richard Male, 21, bachelor, Puddler of Pensnett, son of Benjamin Male, Tailor, married Matilda Cardoe, 22, spinster of Pensnett, daughter of John Cardoe, Miner. By Banns. Both signed their name. Witnesses: John Cardoe & John (Bayce?).
Elizabeth married Edward Hartland at Holy Trinity Church, Ambelcote:
23-09-1860 Edward Hartland, 21, bachelor, Miner of Quarry Bank, son of Francis Hartland, Labourer, married Elizabeth Cardoe, 20, spinster of Thorns, daughter of John Cardoe, Collier. By Banns. Both made mark. Wits: Noah & Caroline Hollyoak.
