If you put "Bloemfontein" into freebmd as a first name and search over 1890-1910 then you get just four hits (must be a few more with varied spelling), in the period March 1900-Sept 1901.
Bloemfontein is a city in South Africa, site of a meeting to try and prevent 2nd Boer War and after the British captured the city in March 1900 they (we, oh dear) set up a concentration camp.
