Alice Wilson - Complete

Post by descartes46 »

Hi forum,

After a bit of trial and error I finally obtained the correct marraige certificate for my ancestor Alice BAKER from Lichfield. It appears she married John Wilson (also from Lichfield) on 2nd July 1852 in St Mary's, Lichfield. Witnessed by her father Samuel BAKER and Sarah BAKER. Rather frustratingly (and after all that effort), I've not been able to find her in any census records after this date...

Any chance somebody with a bit more experience could have a look to see why this might be?

Thanks,
Darren

Hi Jimmy,

Thanks for the immigration information that you found. I wonder if that is them?
The wedding certificate lists his occupation as 'brickmaker' ... his father was also called John Wilson. He is also recorded as being a brickmaker.

unfortunately not, Jimmy. They are both listed in age column as 'full age' which isnt very helpful for family tree researchers! ha ha.

Hi Jimmy,
Thanks for all your help with this. It seems I'm in even more of a pickle with Alice now. Hmmm I wonder if they could have got the occupation wrong on the wedding certificate and this is the correct Alice and John Wilson that went over to the United States?
