There is a marriage for John Hall and Elizabeth Parkes 2 Nov1830, St Thomas Dudley. I have added Maria as their daughter, but not certain as I can't find a baptism. Awaiting marriage lookup to Joseph Anson.
Ann Beet's parents are Joseph Beet and Mary Parkes, so I am wondering if the John and Elizabeth Hall living with Edward and Ann in 1871 are related on Ann's side. Which brings me no closer to finding Edward's parentage.
In 1861 there is a William and Elizabeth Morton (could be Horton) living with John and Elizabeth Hall as Lodgers. There is a marriage for William Horton and Elizabeth (Hale) in 1857, St James, Dudley (Awaiting Lookup)
I am now thinking that there could have been a mistake on the marriage of Edward Bateman and Ann Beet - and perhaps William Worton (Horton) was a witness.
Any ideas ? Can anyone find Edward in 1861 and 1851 please ?
