Thamesville , On. , Canada. Mary & William were married " Grace Anglican Church " , Brantford , On. , Canada in 1841.

Mary is French ethnic , but , canadian born.

Any help with Mary would be deeply appreciated.

I am not quite sure how to read the comment - is it a genuine one, or is is sarcastic?

As the original posting was only 10 days before, and some brick walls are on for months a sarcastic comment is perhaps somewhat premature?

Eh Roger: No this posting on Mary Degan is not sarcastic!!! All of my posts are in fact , for information within my family tree. This posting came to be through the Ontario Genealogy Society
searching these same records. We have a dilema here on who this woman's last name is. We have what other people think here last name is - Degaw , Degow , Degan & Orbine!!! As the story goes , none of her children knew her last name , I find this hard to believe , but , why does she not have a recorded last name?

From Brant County , On , Canada , Ontario Genealogy Society , we get Degan , with no other information. Such as where or when born. From some of their children , Orbine is listed as mother. I have found records where William & Mary Orbine married in Eng. Norfolk County.

The record of their marriage here in Ontario , Brantford , Grace Anglican Church 1841.
