When you say "poss at 3" what does this mean?
I've searched google for Fainters Luca and drew a complete blank. I've looked at all the places around; Snelston, Cubley etc assuming that in those days you didn't travel far to have a relationship/get married.

Thanks for your help. I've looked at this and the census 1851 information. Are there ever any errors on data? In the 1841 census (above)

John Gadsby 25 ag labourer
Maria Gadsby 25
Ann Gadsby 5
Elizth Gadsby 2

In 1851 it shows;
John 39
Maria 38
Eliza 1
Ann (no sign of, poss she could have died)

That's a novel way of keeping young!. I have been in contact with a few Parish churches around the areas for the family and all bar one said to approach the CRO in Matlock who were very accommodating when I spoke to them. So I'm going to put together as much as I can based on what information I have and go and spend a few hours with them before visiting some of the parishes's.
Out of interest, apart from building your tree what documentation do people normally obtain i.e. Birth, Marriage, Death certificates do the get all or just go with their individual choice?

"ashbourne covers Snelston" do you mean CRO or Local in Ashbourne as when I was speaking to office in Matlock they said they cover all Derbyshire. My plan is to do a couple of days in this area and then on separate occasion visit Nottingham and piece it all together. Hopefully if I can go back further then spend more time there.

Do you use the GRO to obtain copy certificates? Do you know if you can view the actual document before you buy, my concern is that you maybe paying for the wrong one.
